Glitch Art

This first image started off as an mp3 of the song Lateralus by TOOL.  I changed the extension of the file from .mp3 to .raw and opened it with Photoshop.  The result was the static that you see.  I then saved the file as a .jpg and opened it in Text Editor.  I pasted the lyrics of the song into the text and got a thin white line. I wasn't happy with the transformation so I then took the first 1000 Fibonacci numbers  and pasted them several times into the text and got a few more white lines.  I used the Fibonacci sequence because the song deals greatly with the Golden Ratio in the syllables per line of lyric, the time measurements, and the message of the song.

This next image is a photo I took of the Riviera in Chicago before seeing one of my favorite bands, Porcupine Tree.  I do not remember the specifics of how I got this because I did it last year but I opened the file in Audacity and made a whole bunch of changes such as changing the pitch, changing the tempo, and copying measures.  The result is very cool.

The last image is a photo I took of railroad tracks in Niles.  For this one I simply opened the .jpg in Text Editor and wrote a whole bunch of crap, deleted text, and pasted song lyrics.  It gives the image a very creepy vibe.  It may be a bit more creepy for me because I have a slight fear of dying by train and this sort of gives it a look like the photographer was hit by a train while the photo was being taken.
