Found Connections-Michael Nespo
Since I'm a graphic design major I decided to create a collage in Photoshop for this project. I also thought it would be interesting to make the collage in a Pop Art style to reflect the ideas of repetition and consumerism, which I feel are both very strong characteristics of the modern internet world that we know.
I use the internet to gain knowledge about things i was unaware of. But alot of people use the internet to learn about alot of things that are not important in life: Gossip, shopping, etc. Therefore I wanted to combine logos in my collage of sites that I feel are important like youtube, google and wikipedia, with sites of logos from internet companies that are of less of importance to gaining knowledge from such as TMZ.com, Bravotv.com, etc. I feel that there are two sides to the internet of today: Sites that help us gain knowledge and sites that clog up our brains with unwanted information. That was the basis of my design.
